Happy 6 month Birthday to Nevaeh

Happy 6 month birthday to Nevaeh! I can't believe it has already been 6 mths since we first set eyes on her beautiful face. I must admit, it has been a very fun journey! She is such a wonderful, happy baby. I can't imagine our lives without her now.

Today I spent a lot of time thinking about the family we have created, watching us all interact made me so happy. Watching her sit all on her own, play with her toys. Watching her smile at all her family members. Listening to all her babbles (which she totally thinks she's talking). Watching Daddy play with Nevaeh- he always makes her giggle and smile, which in turn makes me smile. Made me think about having our next baby... but that was a very short lived thought! haha! ;-) One is good, for now :-) But it also made me realize how much she has learned in her short 6 months. Pretty amazing!

We are winding down from a busy Memorial weekend. Aaron had a 4 day weekend! We visited Stonehendge (out past The Dalles), played at the park, had a bar-b-que, visited friends, enjoyed the beautiful weather, stayed up way too late & ate too much junk food! :) Here are some pics we got over the weekend... Random, but fun!

Nevaeh Update, 5/23/09

Nevaeh is learning many new things! She is a very curious baby & is beginning to grab/feel everything that she can get her chubby little hands on! At 5 1/2 months she was holding her own sippy cup. We give her water in her sippy & she enjoys trying to figure out how to hold and drink at the same time. We've tried rice cereal just recently- she doesn't particularly like it. After a few attempts, we've concluded to wait a few weeks before we try & give it to her again.


Her two favorite cartoons, at the moment, are He-Man & Blue's Clues. She doesn't always stay awake to watch the whole DVD, haha. Something about Blue's Clues and He-Man must be soothing for her:

Her favorite toy is her fuzzy duck. She will fall asleep holding this toy:

She shows no interest in crawling yet. And even though she can roll both ways (from back to tummy and from tummy to back) she shows no interest in rolling around to explore. I'm not complaining! haha... I like that she would rather be held right now :)

Mondays

It was a warm day today in PDX. I'd guess around 80 or so. Monday's aren't a favorite day in the house of the Nissley's. Aaron returns to work, after spending the weekend with his girls & the house always feels quiet! Nevaeh and I got out of the quiet house and walked up to the park. Had some fun in the sun & enjoyed ourselves on the swings for a while. One thing I love about where we live, there is about 5 parks within walking distance.
